Community Service

Although a private school, Chosen Generation Christian Academy is committed to being a viable presence within our community; not by the size of our building or student body but by our works. Committed to the commandments of the Bible as well as living out our beliefs for the glory of God and for the benefit of the community, CGCA is continuously involved in service projects.

Chosen Generation's second annual Community Service Commitment day was a huge success. Our students filled 100 hygiene bags were made that will be given to those in need in our community.

Blessed are those servants, whom the Lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them- Luke 12:37

Community Service Commitment Day in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King

Posted December 27, 2017

Chosen Generation Christian Academy's 3rd Annual Community Service Commitment Day located at 3800 Big Miller Grove Way, Lithonia GA will take place on Monday, January 15th, 2018. We invite and encourage all parents, grand-parents, and friends of the CGCA family to join us for this event. We will be packaging donated toiletries that will be handed out to the homeless community. This is a great opportunity to celebrate a great man, Dr. Martin Luther King, who stood on truth, was not swayed from his belief, and loved his community; plus a spaghetti dinner will be provided afterwards.

On Friday April 13, 2018, our students and teachers  participate in Chosen Generation Christian Academy’s 2nd Annual Walkathon located at Big Miller Grove Way, Lithonia GA. In keeping with CGCA's commitment to give back, to the community all proceeds raised from this event will go towards our scholarship program. It is our desire to give as many students as we can the opportunity to attend Chosen Generation Christian Academy. Last year, we completed a 45 minute challenge to walk as many laps as possible around the Walkathon course set up at CGCA and collected $1,055.00. This year were looking to raise $5,000.00. Can't wait to see you there!

Creative Movement and Dance

CGCA is honored to have Ms. Vera  come in and share with us her tremendous experience in both dance and athletics. Through Ms. Vera, our students experience both physical education and dance (ballet, hip hop, and jazz) twice a month.

Vera Musgrove loves to share her passion for dance and fitness with dancers of all ages! She recently completed a show run as a cast member and the dance captain of the Pop 40 and Rhythm & Grooves stage shows at Six Flags Over Georgia. In December 2011, she completed a tour with the theatrical production called DRUMLine Live! She was the dance captain for the show which has travelled nationally and internationally.

When Vera is not touring or performing, she works as a dance instructor in the Atlanta area. She teaches a variety of dance and fitness classes at Dance 101, an all adult dance studio which specializes in using dance as a fitness outlet. She also teaches ballet, tap, jazz and hip hop to young dancers throughout the Atlanta area.

Vera was also a five-year veteran and captain for the A-Town Dancers of the NBA's Atlanta Hawks. As captain her duties included teaching and creating choreography for the A-Town dancers and coordinating the Junior A-Town Dancers. Prior to joining the A-Town Dancers, Vera was a member of the Washington Wizards (NBA) Dance Team. Additionally Vera has coached the Mahogany-N-Motion Dance Team at Morehouse College and the North Cobb Warrior Elite Dance Team at North Cobb High School.

A native of Temple Hills, Maryland, Vera took her studio dance training to dance teams while in high school. Vera is a graduate of Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia. While attending Spelman, she minored in dance and was a member of the Mahogany-N-Motion dance team for Morehouse College. She has over 20 years of dance training and performing experience. Vera has taught a range of master classes, performed for recording artists and special events including Purple Ribbon Artists, Bobby Valentino and the BET Hip Hop Awards.
